To Promote Internet /Broadband for All

 

Objectives

To achieve and exceed TRAI target of 20 million Broadband & 40 million Internet Connections by the year 2010.

 

To generate employment opportunities (directly/indirectly) for 10 lakhs personnel by the year 2010.

 

To provide the Internet platform for the growth of IT/ IT enabled / software services to meet the country’s target of US $ 80 billions by the year 2010.

 

To turn around the losses of the ISP Industry, and make the Industry into a growth oriented profit making industry.

 

To promote, project and develop the interests of Internet Services Providers.

 

To proliferate convergence between voice and data to facilitate growth of Internet and IT enabled services for E-Commerce, E-Governance, Health care and Distance Education.

 

To collaborate and associate with related National and International Organizations for update on technologies and latest practices.
