DoT has accepted TRAI’s recommendations on
"Allowing ISPs to lay
copper cable in the last mile" after regular
interaction by ISPAI with
them.
Reduction in Performance Bank Guarantee from Rs
2 crore, 20 Lakhs
and Rs 3 lakhs to Rs. 1 crore, Rs. 10 lakhs and
Rs. 2 lakhs for each
of the service area for category A, B, and C
respectively after
regular interaction with DoT (for old licensee).
Rationalization of Tariff for E1/Rs Links
through TRAI Notification
dated 3rd December 03 after vigorous follow up
by ISPAI.
Accessibility of Internet Services as per
National Numbering Plan
2003. At the request and close follow up by
ISPAI TRAI issued
directive dated 29th December 2003 to all CMSPs
& BSOs that
accessibility of Internet Services be made
available as per National
Numbering Plan 2003.
Provision of Infrastructure Facilities to ISPs
by BSOs through TRAI
directive dated 12th Sep 03.
Setting up of India’s first neutral Internet
Exchange i.e. National
Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) at Noida in
collaboration with DIT. NIXI node at Mumbai & Chennai have also become
operational.
TRAI Task Force on “Growth of Internet in the
Country” - ISPAI
contributed significantly in finalizing their
recommendations.
Opening up of Internet Telephony Services for
ISPs w.e.f. 1st April
